Journal Policies

Competing Interests (Conflict of Interest)

Global Science Today (GST) requires all authors to disclose any financial, personal, professional, institutional, or other relationships that could influence, or appear to influence, the research reported in their manuscript.

Every submission must include a Competing Interests statement. If no competing interests exist, authors should state:

"The authors declare that they have no competing interests."

Editors and reviewers are also required to disclose any conflicts of interest before participating in the editorial or peer-review process. Individuals with significant conflicts may be recused from handling or reviewing the manuscript to ensure an impartial evaluation.

Research Involving Human Participants

Research involving human participants, human tissues, or identifiable human data must comply with internationally accepted ethical standards, including the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki, and must have received approval from an appropriate Institutional Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board (IRB).

Manuscripts must clearly state:

  • Name of the approving ethics committee or review board.
  • Approval or reference number (where applicable).
  • Confirmation that ethical approval was obtained before the study commenced.

Research Involving Animals

Studies involving animals must comply with applicable institutional, national, and international regulations governing animal welfare and ethical research.

Authors should confirm that:

  • Ethical approval was obtained from the relevant authority.
  • Animal welfare guidelines were followed.
  • Every effort was made to minimize animal suffering and the number of animals used.

Informed Consent

For research involving human participants, authors must confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to their inclusion in the study.

Where participants are minors or unable to provide consent, consent must be obtained from a parent, guardian, or legally authorized representative.

For articles containing identifiable personal information or images, authors must also obtain explicit consent for publication.

Authorship

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial intellectual contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the research.

All authors should:

  • Approve the final version of the manuscript.
  • Agree to its submission.
  • Accept responsibility for the integrity of the published work.

Individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

Acknowledgements

Contributors who do not qualify for authorship, including those providing technical assistance, language editing, administrative support, funding acquisition, or general supervision, should be recognized in an Acknowledgements section after obtaining their permission.

Changes in Authorship

Requests to add, remove, or rearrange authors after submission or publication must be accompanied by:

  • A written explanation for the requested change.
  • Written consent from all listed authors.
  • Approval from the Editor-in-Chief.

The journal follows COPE recommendations when handling authorship disputes.

Data Availability

GST encourages transparency and reproducibility in scientific research.

Authors are encouraged to:

  • Deposit datasets in recognized public repositories whenever possible.
  • Include accession numbers or repository links within the manuscript.
  • Provide a Data Availability Statement describing where supporting data can be accessed or explaining any restrictions on data sharing.

Editors may request original data during the review process to verify reported findings.

Reporting Standards

Authors should present their research accurately, completely, and transparently.

Data should not be fabricated, falsified, selectively reported, or manipulated. Methods should be described in sufficient detail to allow reproducibility wherever possible.

Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

Global Science Today is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.

Where necessary, the journal may publish:

  • Corrections (Errata or Corrigenda) for significant errors that do not invalidate the study.
  • Expressions of Concern while investigations are ongoing.
  • Retractions when findings are unreliable due to error, misconduct, plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other serious ethical violations.

The journal follows the recommendations of COPE and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) when handling post-publication issues.

Appeals

Authors may appeal editorial decisions by submitting a detailed written explanation addressing the scientific basis of the decision.

Appeals are reviewed independently by the Editor-in-Chief and, where appropriate, by additional editorial board members or external experts. The final decision of the journal will be communicated after completion of the review.

Complaints

Authors, reviewers, and readers may submit complaints concerning editorial decisions, publication ethics, peer review, or journal administration.

All complaints will be investigated confidentially, fairly, and promptly in accordance with the journal's ethical policies and internationally accepted publishing standards.

Commitment to Ethical Publishing

Global Science Today is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity, editorial independence, transparency, and responsible scholarly publishing. The journal continually updates its policies to align with the latest recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and other internationally recognized ethical guidelines.
